Duties And Responsibilities Of The Board Of Pentsos

The Board of PENTSOS has three broad responsibilities and duties known as the “duty of care,” “duty of loyalty,” and “duty of obedience.”

Duty of Care: Take care of the PENTSOS by ensuring the prudent use of all assets, including facility, people, and goodwill;

he duty of Obedience: Ensure that PENTSOS obeys applicable laws and regulations; follow its own policies and procedures; and that PENTSOS adheres to the companies Act of Ghana.
Roles

Other Responsibilities Of The Board Of PENTSOS Include:

Business services is a general term that describes work that supports a business but does not produce a tangible commodity. Information technology is important.

Provide guidance to PENTSOS by contributing to the organization’s culture, strategic focus, effectiveness, and financial sustainability

Serve as ambassadors and advocates of PENTSOS

Ensure efficient resource mobilization for PENTSOS through fundraising and other interventions

Advise the PENTSOS Director in the performance of his functions

Approve strategic plans and annual budgets of the organization

Approve the Condition of Service for all staff

Exercise responsibility for policy approval, providing strategic directions for the organization

Submit an annual budget to the Executive Council for consideration

Advance the organization’s public image and review the performance of the Director

ING. FRANK NSIAH ADUTWUM

Holds MSc. Environmental Science, Policy and Management (2020) from Institute of Local Government Studies/KNUST, Ghana, a Masters in Business Administration (Project & Operation Management Option) from Don Bosco University, Assam, India (Distance Education) and BSc. Civil Engineering, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, Ghana and a Certificate in Water Transport and Distribution (2014) from UNESCO-IHE, Institute for Water Education, Delft, the Netherlands. He is a Corporate Member (MGhIE) of Ghana Institution of Engineering (GhIE). He work as Operations Coordinator at Pentecost Social Services (PENTSOS) where He leads the Development and Relief Unit in the areas of WASH, Agriculture and livelihood empowerment. He previously served as WASH Engineer at Global Communities (USAID-WASH for Health Project), Technical Consultant and Water Supply Engineer at 4WARD Development W/A and ECOPSIS and as Civil Engineer/Project Coordinator at PEC Consult Ltd  for the Word Bank, International Development Association (IDA) project on Sustainable Rural Water and Sanitation Project in the Upper East Region. Prior to the IDA project, He worked on the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) and Millennium Development Authority (MiDA) compact to rehabilitate irrigation projects in the Northern ecological zones.

Dr. K. B. OWUSU-SEKYERE

K. B. Owusu-Sekyere holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture from the University of Science and Technology in Kumasi, a Master’s Degree in Agricultural Economics (with specialization in Agrarian Development) from the University of London, and a Professional Certificate in “Managing Rural Development Information Systems, Monitoring and Evaluation” from University of London. He also holds a PhD in Development Studies from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi. He is Development Economist/Social Development Expert by profession with special competency in Development Management. He has about 40 years of experience in the development arena, with considerable work experience across a broad spectrum of development-oriented organizations. K. B. Owusu-Sekyere has served as Technical Advisor in the erstwhile Ministry for Private Sector Development, Business Services Advisor at GTZ Rural Trade and Industry Promoting Project (RUTIPP), Senior Policy and M&E Manager, Agricultural Sector Investment Program funded by the Government of Ghana and the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD). He has served as Monitoring & Evaluation Expert for programs financed by the International Trade Centre (ITC, Geneva), United Nations Development Program (UNDP), International Development Association (IDA), the African Development Bank (AfDB), International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and GIZ.

Ing. Dr. Shadrack Kwadwo Amponsah

Is a Principal Research Scientist at CSIR-Crops Research Institute in Ghana, dedicated to advancing sustainable agriculture. With over 15 years of expertise, he excels in integrating bio-based technologies and circular economy principles into farm mechanization, postharvest technologies, and aquaculture engineering. Dr. Amponsah’s impactful work includes the design, assessment, and implementation of innovative agricultural technologies, such as recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS), biochar production systems, and energy-efficient food processing technologies, significantly enhancing efficiency and sustainability. His leadership extends to securing funding, directing impactful projects, and mentoring future engineers at KNUST and AAMUSTED. Committed to knowledge transfer, Dr. Amponsah empowers farmers and artisans through training initiatives. Recognized with the KNUST College of Engineering Alumni Service Excellence Award, he holds key board positions and serves as a consultant, demonstrating his deep commitment to driving sustainable agriculture through mechanization and technology dissemination across Ghana and beyond.

Ing. Dr. Shadrack Kwadwo Amponsah received the Engineering Business Award and the Implementation of Engineering Solutions Award at the Ghana Institution of Engineering Excellence Awards 2025 on March 28th, 2025, in Accra, recognizing his outstanding leadership, organizational excellence, commitment to health and safety, and excellence in implementing impactful engineering solutions.

Dr. CHRISTOPHER AMPADU

Has a PhD. International Development – William Carey International University. Pasadena, California – USA.  He holds M.Phil. Sociology and B.A (Hon) – University of Ghana, Legon-Accra. He has an Honorary award in Doctor of Divinity in Leadership Philosophy by International Centre for Academic Research. Garden Valley, Texas, U.S.A.

He is a Faculty member and trainer Mercy Ships Outboard Training Programs for African crew members, Adjunct Faculty, Pentecost University, International Facilitator – Samaritan Strategy/Harvest Foundation, U.S.A, West Africa Director – Samaritan Strategy/ Harvest Foundation, U.S.A. He has a number of publication and book to his credit.

Samuel Allotey

Is an Agricultural professional and business enthusiast who worked for over 25 years in the agricultural and rural development space providing agricultural value chain training and leadership to agribusiness practitioners in Ghana and especially in the Eastern region. He served as Director of Agriculture in charge of extension services, a member of the Regional AIDS committee at the Eastern Regional coordinating Council. He also served as Deputy Coordinator of the Research and Extension Farmer Linkage Committee responsible for addressing agribusiness challenges through research and served as a member of the Eastern Regional National Board for Small Scale Industries monitoring committee that ensures the development and growth of small-scale industries in the Eastern Region. Allotey worked as a managing Director of Ceedordor Publishing and general merchant who managed the publishing and supply of educational books to over 400 senior high schools in Ghana. He is a consultant to Envi Agro Limited that provide services to Ghana COCOBOAD and offer training services to other Agro-based industry players. I am also the project Director of Naabans Foundation an NGO based in Accra that serves the educational, health and socioeconomic needs of marginalized rural communities in the Eastern and Central Regions of Ghana. He holds a master of philosophy in Agricultural Administration from the University Ghana and BSc Hon in Agricultural extension from the University of Cape Coast

ELD. BARIMA ACHEAMPONG SARPONG II

(Asante Asamanhene, Nifahene Of Nsuta Traditional Council And Deputy Director For Pentecost Men’s Ministry)

Barima is a Kingdom Entrepreneur and a Procurement Consultant. Prior to that, he was the Ag. Head of Procurement at the Ministry of Food and Agriculture, Procurement Consultant- in charge of World Bank Funded Projects at the same Ministry of Food and Agriculture. He has developed an extensive experience in procurement by serving as a specialist on a number of public projects in partnership with Development Finance Institutions like World Bank and African Development Bank and UN- World Food Programme. Aside from other leadership positions he has occupied, Barima is the immediate past Assistant Area PEMEM Leader for La Area and Presiding Elder of PIWC-Accra, Kokomlemle, and also sits on the boards of COP Chairman Education Foundation, Pentecost Social Service (PENTSOS), Ghana-Nebraska Agribusiness, Zeotec Limited, Biazo Realtors Limited, Pathos AiB Limited, Arima Farms and Pathos Agro Limited. He is an entrepreneur who has established the following companies: Zeotec Limited, a manufacturing company; Aca-City Farms, a Commercial farm; Pathos AIB Limited, a manufacturing company; Biazo Realtors, a real estate company; Pathos Agro Limited, a Commercial farm; and AFMREC, a natural resources research firm etc. He has a BSc in General Agriculture from the University of Cape Coast, and an M.Sc. in Socio-Economic of Rural Development from the University of Gottingen, Germany.  

Benjamin Asare Yeboah

Is a Development Planner and has over sixteen years’ experience in Community Development. First with the New Juaben Municipal Assembly as Private Sector Desk Officer for the Social Investment Fund/AfDB project and with World Vision Ghana (WVG) as Program Officer, Planning Monitoring and Evaluation (PM&E) Coordinator and the PM&E Specialist. He also acted in various roles in WVG such as Risk and Compliance Manager, Christian Commitment Manager and Partnership and Institutional Capacity Building Specialist.

He served as Senior Partnership Manager in Compassion International Ghana and also work as Monitoring Evaluation and Learning Specialist in USAID/West Africa Regional Program Office. His area of expertise includes Monitoring and Evaluation, Knowledge Management, Strategy Design, Project Management and Program Sustainability and Transition. Benjamin holds a BSc in Development Planning from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) and MSc in Project Management from the Open University of Malaysia. Benjamin is a Youth Coach and married to Esther and they are blessed with two daughters.
