PENTSOS to Empower Inmates with New Skills Training Center at Forifori Camp Prison
Pentecost Social Services (PENTSOS) Secretariat and some Board members recently visited the Fori Camp prison in the Afram Plains to engage with stakeholders and evaluate the new skills training center. This center aims to equip inmates with valuable livelihood skills, such as tailoring, carpentry, and other vocational trades. The initiative is designed to help inmates reintegrate into society successfully upon their release. During the visit, PENTSOS committed to supporting the center by donating an industrial sewing machine and other essential equipment, including carpentry tools and materials for various crafts. This generous gesture is part of PENTSOS’s broader social ministry efforts, which focus on empowering vulnerable populations and fostering sustainable development. The establishment of the skills training center is a significant step towards achieving PENTSOS’s ambitious vision of creating 20,000 jobs for vulnerable individuals. By providing inmates with practical skills and resources, PENTSOS hopes to reduce recidivism rates and promote economic self-sufficiency among former inmates. The organization believes that such initiatives are crucial for building a more inclusive and resilient society. The visit also included discussions with prison officials and other stakeholders to explore additional ways to support the inmates and enhance the effectiveness of the training programs. PENTSOS remains committed to its mission of transforming lives and communities through targeted social interventions and partnerships.
