The Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, on Thursday, December 20, 2018, inaugurated a seven-member Board of Directors for the Pentecost Hospital.
The new Board comprises of the Madina Area Head (Apostle Anthony Kwabla Ahalivor), Finance and Administration Director, COP-Headquarters (Pastor Nicholas Darko), Dr. Mrs. Abigail Kyei, Elder Dr. Johnson Addo and Elder Dr. Perez Sepenu, Pastor Dr. Edward Arko Koranteng (former General Manager of the Pentecost Clinic, Tarkwa) and the PENTSOS Director (Elder George Afrifa).
The Board members have officially assumed duties after undertaking a Charge of Office at a short inaugural ceremony at the Church’s Headquarters at La in Accra. The event was also witnessed by the General Secretary, Apostle Alexander Nana Yaw Kumi-Larbi, and the International Missions Director (IMD), Apostle Emmanuel Gyesi-Addo.
Among other duties, the new Board has been tasked to ensure that the Hospital operates under the operational and legal framework for which it has been established.
Apostle Eric Nyamekye also charged the Board to do everything within their remit to transform the facility to meet the standards of a “Christian Hospital.” He advised them to ensure that officials of the facility uphold high Christian and moral values since the Hospital bears the name of the Church.
The Chairman was grateful to Dr. Mrs. Agnes Asare, the Chairperson of the former Board of the Hospital, who was also present at the event, for her commendable service to the Hospital.
Apostle Kumi-Larbi, in turn, said that based on the recommendation of the Interim Board, the leadership of the Church has appointed Pastor Dr. Arko Koranteng as the new Director of the Hospital.
He also revealed that plans are far advanced to expand the facility so as to meet the health needs of members of the society as stated in the Vision 2023 document of the Church.
In response, Apostle Ahalivor, on behalf of the Board, thanked the leadership of the Church for the trust reposed in them and assured the Chairman that they would do their best to live up to expectations with God being their helper.
As part of the event, the Chairperson of the Interim Board, Dr. Mrs. Abigail Kyei, ceremonially presented a signed copy of the Hand-over notes to the Chairman of the new Board, Apostle Anthony Ahalivor.
