PENTSOS Explores Large-Scale Agriculture and Agribusiness and Healthcare Opportunities in Afram Plains (Dwarf Island)
The Pentecost Social Service (PENTSOS) has embarked on a mission to transform the Afram Plains through large-scale technology agriculture, agribusiness and healthcare. A delegation of board members and secretariat officials recently visited Dwarf Island to engage with local communities, exploring potential avenues for livelihood empowerment and improved healthcare.
During the visit, community leaders and members shared their insights into various agriculture and agribusiness prospects, as well as the challenges they face. The discussions centered around the potential of sustainable job creation, particularly for youth, increased income levels, and enhanced primary healthcare services.
“This engagement is crucial for understanding the unique needs and aspirations of the Afram Plains communities,” said Dr. Owusu-Sekyere, Board Chair of PENTSOS. “By leveraging technology and agribusiness, we aim to create sustainable livelihoods and improve the overall quality of life in this region.”
The delegation included prominent figures such as Dr. Magdalene Mensah, Dr. Chris Ampadu, Samuel Allotey, Rev. Benjamin Asare Yeboah (PENTSOS Director), Alexander Kwame Frimpong (Church Health Coordinator), Eunice Pumpuni (Institutional Development), as well as traditional leaders and community members.
The visit is expected to pave the way for collaborative efforts between PENTSOS and the Afram Plains communities, leading to the implementation of innovative agricultural projects and initiatives.
