The Church Of Pentecost Constructs Boreholes For 3 Communities
It was all joy when the Wa Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Daniel Nii Tetteh Tackie, commissioned and handed over three boreholes with hand pumps to the Yorkonteng, Metii and Gurungu communities in the Upper West Region.
The boreholes, which were fully funded by the Church’s Headquarters, through her social services wing, Pentecost Social Services (PENTSOS), was constructed to provide access to potable drinking water.
Before the commissioning of the boreholes, residents of the Yorkonteng community, numbering about 800, were without potable water and, therefore, resorted to unclean water from water bodies, which they shared with other animals. Moved by the plight of the people, the Church offered to construct boreholes for the community and two other surrounding communities namely Metii and Gurungu, faced with the same challenge
The commissioning service, held recently, had in attendance Pastor Prince E. Y. Dzramedo (Gurungu District Minister), Hon. Vida Dorothy (Wa West District Chief Executive), Hon. Manan (Assembly Member, Gurungu Electoral Area), Unit Committee Members, Chiefs and opinion leaders.
Dedicating the facilities, Apostle Tackie advised the community members to take good care of the boreholes so that they would prolong their lifespan and serve them for a long time.
Hon. Dorothy was full of praise for the Church for meeting this dire challenge of the people, saying that “water is life!”
She applauded The Church of Pentecost for investing in various social interventions citing the establishment of schools, hospitals, correctional facilities and water facilities across the length and breadth of the country.
She also praised the Church for her evangelistic efforts and also encouraged them to continue to do more to bring more persons into the saving knowledge of Christ.
Hon. Manan, on his part, thanked the Church for extending such a kind gesture to the communities within his jurisdiction. He prayed for God’s continuing providence for the Church and encouraged other organisations to emulate the Church’s efforts.
Speaking to PENTECOST NEWS, Pastor Dzramedo said that the Church discovered the small community in 2018 and established an assembly after an evangelism outreach. He said the challenge came to their notice after they established the assembly there.
Subsequently, the District prayed for a divine intervention and informed the then Area Head, Apostle Robert Kwabena Andoh about the situation. He, in turn, informed the PENTSOS Directorate for assistance.
The PENTSOS Director, Elder Richard Amaning, and a team of experts visited the community to assess the situation and came to their aid.
Pentecost Preparatory School, Assin-Foso launch Fruits and Vegetables Day in a grand style.
The Fruits and Vegetables Day is an initiative by Pentsos in collaboration with the Ghana Health Service and the GES to build knowledge levels among pupils in the Schools about local Ghanaian Vegetables and Fruits and also to influence their preference over Foreign fruits.
The Project seeks to increase the consumption of Ghanaian Fruits and vegetables and also promote healthy eating them among pupils.
Students brought various Fruits and vegetables from home. Each student presented thier fruits and vegetables and with the support from their teachers were able to distinguish between the foreign fruits and vegetables from the local. They were also educated about their nutritional and health benefits.
Students were guided to make creative art works using the fruits and vegetables.
Through continuous engagement, it is believed that the children taste and preference will change towards the locally cultivated Fruits and Vegetables.
Pentsos Leadership and Financial Management Workshop
The event, the first of its kind, was attended by heads of the church’s educational and health institutions from all over the country. Currently, The Church of Pentecost has 10 health institutions and 105 educational institutions.
Addressing the participants at the opening of the program at the Pentecost Convention Centre (PCC), Gomoa Fetteh, on Thursday, October 13, 2022, the Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, spoke on the topic: “Missions and Social Transformation” – Matthew 28:19-20; John 17:18.
Apostle Nyamekye indicated that one way that the church is entering the world is through missions and social transformation, where the gospel is packaged and shown to the world in love. “All these social interventions that we are doing is to package Christ to the people so that they can come to him and be saved,” he said.
He added: “For us as a church, we have been sent on a mission to transform the world, hence building the prisons, schools, hospitals, police stations, and potable water.”
He also said that as part of the church’s Vision 2023, members are being equipped with kingdom values and principles to change their spheres for Christ. He, therefore, asked believers to let their light shine to dispel every darkness in society.
Some of the topics treated were ‘Workplace Professionalism and Delivery of Service in a Christian Institution’ by Elder Prof. Tweneboah Koduah; ‘Building the PENTSOS Ecosystem’ by Elder Richard Amaning (PENTSOS Director); ‘Strengthening Internal Controls’ by Elder Firang Boakye (Audit Manager, Head Office); ‘Discipline as a mark of Leader’ by Apostle Lawrence Otu-Nyarko (FAD), and ‘The Head as a Mediator’ by Apostle Philip Osei Korsah (Director of Counselling Ministry).
Water Project donated to PENSEC by the HIVE Community.
The HIVE an NGO constructs and donates limited mechanized borehole to the Pentecost Senior High School Kumasi.

Solar-powered Irrigation Farm Project
10 acre Solar-powered irrigation farm project commissioned in the Bawku Area of the Church of Pentecost
The 10-acre solar-powered irrigation farm project initiated by the Pentecost Social Services (PENTSOS)
last year at Tanga in the Upper East Region of Ghana has been commissioned. The project, which falls under the Sustainable Livelihood Programme (SLP) of PENTSOS, was commissioned by the Bawku Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Eric Gyambibi Boateng, on behalf of the Chairman, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, at a special ceremony. The SLP, among other objectives, seeks to empower members, especially the youth and other local farmers, to gain sustainable income. The project would directly support 50 smallholder farmers to cultivate vegetables like okra, onion, pepper, tomatoes, cabbage etc. and reduce their dependency on rain-fed agriculture, which is on a balance of probabilities. Therefore, to enhance food security and job opportunities, PENTSOS, in partnership with the Headquarters and the Bawku Area, decided to embark on dry-season irrigation farming (mainly short-cycle vegetable production) to support members of the church to create job opportunities and sustainable income, he added. Highlighting the scope of the project, the Operations Coordinator of PENTSOS, Elder Ing. Frank Adutwum stated that the project, which cost GHS 290,000.00, has three boreholes, supplying about 70,000 litres (15,400 gallons) of water for eight hours daily. Two boreholes
have also been connected to solar pumps delivering about 50,000 litres of water into four installed Polytanks, while the remaining borehole operates on a generator. In addition, a drip irrigation technology has been installed on a three-acre portion of the land to ensure adequate supply of water on the farmland. The Area Head said the irrigation project is, therefore, a catalyst for achieving relevant priorities in the five-year strategic vision of The Church of Pentecost (Vision 2023) aimed at “possessing the nations” by transforming society with Kingdom principles.
